In order to gain relevant results, we spoke to a large cross-section of consumers from different backgrounds, taking into consideration factors including age, location within China and working status.
We assessed consumer cleaning methods, asking them how they sort and treat clothing, how they measure detergent and whether they machine or hand wash clothes.
Consumers were asked what their preferred format of detergent was, their awareness and usage of other detergent types and what product benefits are most important to them.
In the final part of the survey, we discovered which stains were a problem for consumers and the different laundry issues they face. From all these findings we were able to highlight some potential opportunities for the industry.
The data from this survey has resulted in three key insights that we believe represent a real opportunity to industry when determining future product development within the Chinese market.
